I saw one a few months back about loving Jesus that quoted "But whosoever shall deny me before their friends, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven" at the end of their tripe. Made me just as livid, attempting to suck people in through guilt or fear tactics for what? a modern chain letter. Pisses me off big time! This rant gets a two thumbs up from me!

Oh gag - I HATE those "chain mail" types of status updates and emails. I'm talking "Seth and Amy REALLY" kind of hate. (Awesome!) But like you, I hate the message, not the messengers. of course. as i stated, it really was the pre-written copy and pasted update that got my goat... and the mentality behind copy and pasting such updates.

I know many Christians who are pretty great.

I know a lot who aren't, but i think that's probably more a comment on their personalities in general than their belief system.

sigh, it's frustrating because a big part of me wants to say things like: "you've got to be fucking kidding me" on their walls... but... i don't want to offend them. I wish they'd do me the same courtesy. It's funny how it is generally assumed by christians that everyone believes what they believe, and if you don't happen to believe what they do - well then they must take it upon themselves to try to 'save' you....
