Welll, what the EFF!!

So, i'm trying to revamp the old blog homestead, and i think i may have effed it up even more so. But the thing that is driving me absolutely bonkers is that Haloscan, who was hosting my comments, has changed or gone under or changed hands or whatever, and i just want to change things back to the way they used to be, letting good old' blogger handle it.

but i can't. i spent over a half hour staring at HTML and it makes my insides cry.

If you know me well, you know:

1. i heart boobs - fake boobs need not apply. Nothing ruins a good porn art film like fake boobs. Seriously, what is the deal with that!? Maybe i should clarify... if you're 95 pounds soaking wet and you're trying to pull off DD Boobs... it just looks gross. I'm all for boosting confidence and all that jazz, but why not go with something a little more realistic, like a nice B cup?? Also... Skin puckering around the implant = TEH FAIL!!

2. i don't capitalize my "i's" - deal with it. Someone once told me i had self esteem issues, but then i told him to suck it.

3. i drink more coffee than is probably good for me - i can't help myself. ::leaves to refill cup::

4. i feel very strongly about astrology - not in the predicting the future way, but in the way that they help me understand personality types.

5. i love tattoos... i just finished reading the book "Until I Find You" by John Irving (it was a birthday gift from Mika a few years ago, but reading books takes me a bit longer these days) and there is a LOT of Tattoo bizness in it... also, i've been watching episodes of LA Ink, and it just reaffirms my love for tattoos. I think they're sexy - especially on dudes. I keep telling B-rad he needs to get more - maybe a full sleeve... y'know.... whatevs.

6. i like lists - which is why i'm a sucker for a good meme.

7. i have a hard candy shell, but a soft gooey underbelly. Like an M&M Turtle! I act all tough and junk, but inside i'm mush.

8. i love to rock. seriously. Karaoke, Guitar Hero, actual bands, BRING IT!

9. i use sarcasm, especially when i'm nervous - and as i'm not very good in small talk situations, i'm nervous a lot.

10. i am easily moved by music. Goosebumps, tears, the whole sh'bang. Sometimes i feel like my heart will burst.

walking in a winter wonderland

ah February.

Here we are again.

I'm not sure what it is, but February is a pretty shitty month. Maybe it's the fact that it's really the last month of Winter, and it's been Winter for soooo long, and everyone's so sick of it being cold and miserable, and DARK!!

Almost everyone i know goes through a funk in February.

but i digress...

there are few things in this world i detest more than winter and being cold. Especially here in the Skatch, the winters are so dry that your whole body suffers. There are patches of dry skin on my back the size of Spain. My hair is in a constant Frizz state.

Generally at this time of year i find myself asking: Why did we move back here again?? But the melt should be coming soon, i hope...

So this was the state i found myself in this morning as i was getting into the car and heading to work... cantankerous and all around moody - the roads were icy, the car had to be scraped off... it was dark... but by the time i was a few blocks from my house, i opened my eyes and saw that i was driving through a breathtaking winter wonderland.

Every tree was covered in a thick layer of Hoar Frost.



The sky was white with fog, creating this beautiful glow all around the street lamps - really lending to the ethereal atmosphere.


I immediately wished that i had my camera with me... "Why am i not one of those people who carries a camera every place they go?" I asked myself...


When i got to work i realized i DID have a camera with me, albeit just the one on my phone.

So i snapped a few shots before heading into the office.

On days like this, when it's so absolutely beautiful outside, that i don't actually mind Winter. But i'll be glad to see it go.

So i have been 'OFF LINE' the last few days, dealing with what seemed to be the great baby sickness of 2010.

What started out as teething quickly turned into a snottyfaced cold with nagging cough, then was joined by Pink Eye, then to top it all off - they threw in an Ear infection for good measure. The good times never stop at Casa Diva.

So when i actually made it back into work, i was going through my piles of unread emails. Being in an administrative position, it's quite common for me to get emails from addresses i don't know and this morning i came across this lovely little ditty:

So clearly English is NOT Ekaterina's first language, but for shits and giggles, let's take a closer look at her letter:

...Well, hello... yes, thank you - i am Fine.

....My name is Laura, me of 29 years....

...my profile? this is odd, as this came to my work email address... so where have you been looking? And WHAT are you seeing that would be attached to my name/email?

...So remarkably clever, in fact, that i look like, act, and in fact AM a woman?? I am not a dude.

OR - is she trying to say:
You have seemed, to me, very remarkable and clever, man.

Which i suppose is okay, and she's trying to be all casual and laid back - but may be TOO laid back? she is, after all essentially offering herself to me. She could at least be a little bit formal.

...learn me on closer what? i don't get it. Hm, maybe she means she wants to LEAN on me, closer. Could be a typo.

....oh my god... SOOOO tempting. Really! I kinda want to communicate more with HER! She seems like she has a pretty colourful temperament... i wonder if she's merry and cheerful?

...okay, geeze! i get it! you're nice... Well, I'M sexy and fabulous and have a rockin' singing voice and a kick ass sense of humour and am way too cool for school, but you don't hear ME bragging about it. Gawd.

...well, the Skatch isn't really ripe with adventure, maybe you should try someone who lives on a pirate ship.... and while i enjoy trips, i'm not so fond of dogs (but only when they jump up on me). Do you like cats? we have two cats. It's sort of a deal breaker...

...that's very health conscious of you... some days i like to look at my treadmill... some days i even go on it.

...i'm confused here, you like to rest in the open air at night clubs? I get the beach thing, who DOESN'T like to chill at the beach... sadly - you should check your atlas, cuz there are very few beaches in the Skatch, being landlocked in the middle of the country and all... But the resting in open air at night clubs? personally, i don't go to night clubs to rest in the open air. I don't go to night clubs at all, but if i did i'd go to dance.

...ah. there it is. She seems like a pretty nice girl, i could see myself hanging out with her--

...WOAH! Slow down!! I hardly even know you... and besides -- while i AM flattered, i'm already married - and happily so! and as far as i know, B-rad's not planning on converting to Mormonism any time soon, and i'm not that fond of polygamy. Sorry, you sound cool and all, we probably coulda had some sweet adventures in the open night air of the clubs, but i'm going to have to pass.

Good luck with your marriage hunt... although, in my experience, you shouldn't lead with the fact that you wanna get married... you have to work up to that.
