Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. ~James Matthew BarrieI know i touched on it a bit in the last post about how the super awesome Teeni and her husband, TGH, sent me a fruit bouquet, but i wanted to show you a picture of it (minus one strawberry that i ate before i thought to take a picture)...
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo BuscagliaI was really and truly touched at the thoughtfulness of those two. Over the course of the next few days, i was to be a guest in their home - in their car - in their lives and they truly are fabulous and generous and i had such an amazing time with them (more to come).
As i said, i was one of the last people to arrive - and so the legend of the fruit bouquet preceded me. One woman who sat with me at supper exclaimed: "I wish i was that nice!" and over the course of the seminar when someone would find out that i was the one who received the fruit bouquet many of them said the same thing: "What a nice thing to do!"
A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives roses. ~Chinese ProverbI'm still touched by the gesture and the thought, and inspired to be more like Teeni - and i think she inspired many others that day without realizing it.
Thank you again, Teeni, for really making my first day in your beautiful state so memorable and for being a wonderful person.
