Dear SuperStore Employee Sharon,
it all happened so fast, my little baby went from 0 to 60 in a matter of microseconds. Before i knew what what happening we were in full blown tantrum mode - complete with manic flailing and blood curdling screams.
There wasn't much i could do - my groceries already on the conveyor belt, a line up of people behind me.
When his screaming escalated and he managed to climb out of the shopping cart - suddenly i was helpless.
Trying to pay for my groceries with one hand while holding on to this wriggling monster who was head butting me in the face and crying so hard he was choking - i had no idea how i was going to get out of there.
It was only a few groceries, but suddenly i felt so overwhelmed...
you may never know the surge of gratitude i felt for you today.
you may never know how i was silently begging for help.
you may never know the infinite amount of kindness i felt when you put your hand on my shoulder and asked if you could help me pack my groceries so i could tend to my hysterical screaming baby...
i hope, when my eyes filled with tears and spilled down over my face, that you were not embarrassed, that you could feel how much i appreciated you in that moment.
i wanted to say thank you.
Laura
