1 Been to Canada – yup, born and raised
2 Been to Mexico – B-rad and I spend two weeks in Cancun for a belated honeymoon. It was great – we’d love to go back.
3 Been to Florida – No, but in my mind all Floridians eat lots of cheesecake a la the Golden Girls.
4 Been on a plane – Yep. Lots of times.
5 Been lost – I don’t think I’ve ever REALLY been lost. I have a pretty good sense of direction
6 Been on the opposite side of the country – The Skatch is pretty well smack dab in the middle of the country …those prairies… I’ve been to the West Coast but not the East, yet.
7 Swam in the ocean – Yes! In Vancouver – brrrr…. In California – Eww! And in Mexico – warm
8 Cried yourself to sleep – Yes. Many times
9 Played cops and robbers – being the only girl with 3 brothers, I played it more often than I ever played with dolls.
10 Played with a Tonka Truck - See above.
11 Recently colored with crayons – yes. Everytime we go to that restaurant named after an American state I colour on the table cloth/paper
12 Sang karaoke – I loves me some karaoke!! But I have to try not to hog the mic, I am the diva after all.
13 Paid for a meal with only coins – oh, yes. So many Greasy Spoon meals of coffee, fries, and gravy were purchased with quarters and such. Mind you, in Canada we have a One Dollar Coin (The Loonie) and a Two Dollar Coin (The Twoonie – hey! I didn’t name it) so it’s really not that hard to pay for a meal in coins… 3 twoonies? That’s six bucks mon ami!
14 Done something you told yourself you wouldn’t? – Yes. No. Maybe.
15 Made prank phone calls – no, I haven’t MADE a prank call, but I’ve answered the phone “Laura’s Whore House” or, “Hi, is Jason there?” (← that one really confuses them)
16 Caught a snowflake on your tongue – I did that on Saturday night with Madison and B-rad!
17 Danced in the rain – Yes. One of my best memories with B-rad takes place in the rain. Someday I’ll post about it.
18 Written a letter to Santa Claus – last year I helped the kids at the job from hell write their letters to Santa. It was Fun.
19 Been kissed under the mistletoe – No. And I can never find any when I want to buy some! I have a Festivus party next week, and I hope to find some by then.
20 Watched the sunrise with someone you care about – yeah, many times. But the best one was in Mexico watching the sun rise over the ocean
21 Blown bubbles – I have 5 nephews and 4 nieces…. All signs point to yes. (are there ACTUALLY people out there who HAVEN’T blown bubbles? What kind of question is that?)
22 Made a bonfire on the beach – No. Many a bonfire, but none on the beach.
23 Crashed a party – I’m never sure what exactly constitutes “crashing”. I mean, I’ve attended many parties in high school that I was never formally invited to by the host… does that count?
24 Crashed a wedding – no, but I had some people crash mine. Which woulda been fine if she wasn’t such a bitch about it.
25 Crashed a funeral – no. that’s sick.
26 Gone ice-skating – Yep! And i’ll be getting my ice skates sharpened soon… the Bezz’s outdoor rink is primed and ready for my ass to make contact with it many times over.
27. Any nicknames? Other than B-rad calling me ‘honey’…no. I’ve never had a nickname, not one that stuck anyway. Which always made me sad, there’s just no way to shorten Laura…. And I despise being called Laurie. I suppose the closest thing to a nickname I have is “The Diva”
28 Favorite drink? I love Coke. I try not to drink it too much, cuz I could probably drink 2L a day, but I love it. Coke, not Pepsi.
29 Any tattoos? Yes. 3 so far… and with about 3 in the creative process
30 Body piercing? Ears – 7 (Four in the left, 3 in the right), Labret, Tongue, and I used to have my navel pierced. Once I’m done being a baby factory some day – I’ll get one of my nipples pierced.
31 How much do you love your job? After the Job from Hell, this is a DREAM JOB!! Actually, it’s pretty frikkin’ great. I’m surrounded by art, and artistic people – and I am inspired on a daily basis.
32 Favorite vacation spot? So far it’s Cancun – but I love warm weather. Aside from Cancun, I’d have to say Emerald Lake where B-rad and his family used to have a cabin.
33 Ever been to Africa? No. But I would love to go. One of my best friend’s husband is from Algeria – so maybe some day in the FAR FUTURE I’ll go.
34 Ever eaten cookies for dinner? More times than I care to admit.
35 Ever been on TV? Yeah, a commercial in high school, an improve team, uh, I think that’s it.
36 Ever steal any traffic signs? What? No.But I may or may not have a “Fresh Oil” sign hanging in the basement. I didn’t steal it though.
37. Ever been in a car accident? Yeah. I’ve been rear-ended twice and one time my brother Patrick and I ran over an old lady. It was traumatic.
38. Drive a 2-door or 4-door vehicle? It’s a four door. A big ‘un… a Chrysler Intrepid. In the words of my S.i.L.: “You can fit three car seats back here!”
39. Favorite pie? Pumpkin – hands down.
40. Favorite Number? 27 don’t know why but it has been for years and years
41. Favorite movie? Just one? I can’t answer this, there are too many good ones that I love.
42. Favorite holiday? It used to be Christmas, but now I’m not sure anymore – Christmas stresses me out. I don’t have any kids – so I’m sure that will effect how I feel in the future. Right now? Probably Thanksgiving
43. Favorite dessert? Chocolate ice cream. Or New York Cheesecake with strawberries.
44. Favorite food? I love French fries. Gah.
45. Favorite day of the week? I like Saturdays, cuz I’m home all day with b-rad and I know there’s still one more day of spending time with him ahead of me.
46. Favorite brand of body wash? Brand? What?
47. Favorite toothpaste? Peppermint flavoured.
48. Favorite smell? The earth after Rain, Babies heads, and vanilla.
49. What do you do to relax? Read, blog, paint
50. Do you have a message to your friends reading this? I can see you picking your nose. I don’t mind, really, just make sure you use a tissue instead of wiping it under your chair. That’s gross.
51. How do you see yourself in 10 years? Running around after future children, I hope.
