71 - x365 Mr. Collins

My lil' bro often refers to you as the 'angry little leprechaun', and it makes me laugh. You were short, and balding, you reminded me of George Costanza. You held a grudge, and held it hard. When two girls were asked to leave school for the year because they had gotten pregnant, the students revolted, and protested peacefully across the street from the school NOT on school property. I had been a previous member of the student council, and was an active member in the drama club, and participated in many school functions.

When i ditched my classes and joined the protest, you took it personally. My parents, they were proud of me for fighting for what i believed in. When i applied for university, i needed a letter from my high school - and my mom and i stopped in at the school to pick it up before taking in my application. You made my mother and i sit in your office for over 20 minutes, when i KNEW you had no classes to teach at that time. You came in and gave me a lecture in front of my mother about how you really had to think about whether or not i deserved a letter of recommendation, after being involved in that protest.

I honestly think, that if my mother hadn't been with me, you would have not given it to me. I think you decided you wouldn't, but when we both showed up - you spent that 20 minutes throwing together a shitty letter. When you handed me the letter, i stood up and said: "you want us to think for ourselves and fight for what we believe in, but only when its something YOU WANT US to believe in".
