This morning, the B-rad and i went out for breakfast to celebrate the end of our diet, and while the food looked delicious, it seemed that it wasn't as delicious as i remembered it. The hashbrowns seemed to have a funny taste - of course, that didn't stop me from finishing them. lol.
on our way home, B-rad and i decided to take a detour and drove around the new developments in our area. It's amazing how fast this community sprung up. Almost over night. We've lived here in almost-but-not-quite-yet a year and the growth is really astounding. So as we drove around, we found a country road - as the new area is right on the edge of the city, and we decided to see where it took us. On our journey we saw an old couch abandoned in a ditch, we found an off leash dog park, car parts, and old sink, and many many lagoons left over from the spring/summer flooding.
It was a fun ride, driving around in the fields talking. It was nice. Quality time that we had been missing in the last few weeks of crazy. We dreamed together of someday building a house on a small acreage outside the city where our future children could burn around on thier bikes, and where B-rad could build an honest to goodness sound recording studio. It's the dream. One of them, anyway.
We've lived in this neighbourhood for almost a year, and we had no idea where we were living. It was nice to get out there and see what else is close by. The new development is snazzy, with a new ball diamond and soccer pitch. Bike and walking trails. It should be exicting in the next couple of years. It's nice to see the westside fancying up a bit - kind of leaving the idea of the west side ghetto behind. Now, we just need to get some nice restaurants and pubs over here and we'll be all set.

7 people love me:
SOunds like you had a lovely time together and I am glad you finished the hashbrowns
Hi Laura,
I can't see your header anymore. The bigger page looks great. Schmutzie worked some magic.
Good that you finished the soup diet. That must have been hard ...
Good luck with Nanowrimo!
I still can't see the header either!
I'm glad that you two had a good day together. Cam and I haven't done that in a long time, spring I think. I didn't even know there was all of that stuff in that area! But they definitely need more restaurants there! I'd come out to one if they ever did!
It's great that you and B-rad got some quality time together. Got to make sure that continues even if you have to plan it in there sometimes. It's important, especially getting away from any other influences so you can just have together time. :)
you and i NEVER go on sunday drives anymore :(
Slyde, i thought we talked about this. it's not that i don't love you anymore...it just that... i don't love you anymore. Can't we still be friends?
That sounds lovely. Smyrish and I haven't gone for a drive in the country in awhile. I just might have to get him out there this weekend.
