100 things about me

inspired by Paige's 100 i decided to try my hand at it. i'm warning you, it will be very long. i thought about posting 10 and a time, but i have them all written out in a notebook - so i might as well post it all now!!

1. - i have 9 piercings. 6 in my ears (3 in each), my labret, my tongue, and i had my navel peirced but it just grew in one day. Someday i will get at least one nipple pierced, but that's not for a while.

2. - i love long hair, but i think it makes my face look fat. Plus i'm lazy, so short is easier.

3. - i love astrology. i find it fascinating. one day i'd like to learn how to do forecasts.

4. - my favourite body parts are hands and wrists. If you're a man and you have wussy girl hands, or a woman with man hands, i find it very unappealing.

5. - i got my driver's license on the first try, but i was 19, had just taken an offensive driver's course, and had been driving illegally for 3 years. If it wasn't for B-rad, i probably still wouldn't have it today.

6. - i have a wild imagination and usually have crazy scary nightmares. i'm one of the few people who can say they literally need to watch TV so i can turn my brain off.

7. - i love to read and i thought sitting alone in my room reading made me so grown up - when i was six.

8. - i'm not religious at all. i'm still mildly surprised when i meet people who are.

9. - When me and my brothers were little we used to play in the storm drain that went under the street. We would crawl to the middle and scream everytime a car drove over top of us.

10. - At about the same time - one of the tenants in the townhouse complex we lived in had the back windshield smashed in, leaving bits of square shaped glass everywhere. i collected some and put them in my pockets thinking they were diamonds. My mother threw them out and i was sad.

11. - in the same townhouses, i tried to pass off my mother's bright red lipstick as chapstick. i was probably 5 or 6 then too. Of course, my mother saw through me instantly and marched me to the bathroom to wash my face.

12. - i have 3 brothers - i was basically a tomboy.

13. - i have STRAIGHT hair. And my hair doesn't like to hold curl. Melsie had to use an entire can of spray for my wedding hair. Of course, this didn't stop my mother from trying to curl my hair as a child.

14. - Once, at about age 8, after fighting with my mother over whether or not my hair would be curled for church mom won the battle but not the war. As soon as i got in the building i beelined for the bathroom and dunked my head under the running tap to get rid of the curls.

15. - i am suddenly terrified of having children. LOL

16. - i have never chewed my nails. Probably something to do with how sexy i find hands. i think it's gross. luckily, B-rad is a guitar player and keeps his nails trimmed.

17. - i have never enjoyed reading romance novels.

18. - once in grade one, a friend gave me a sip of her dad's beer and told me it was apple juice. i cried. i thought i was going to hell.

19. - in grade 2 i told my friend Jenna that when i grew up i wanted to be a stripper cuz they got to take their clothes off. Her mother heard and packed me up and sent me home. i wasn't allowed to play at Jenna's anymore.

20. - i have 3 tattoos so far. i want more.

21. - i am lactoce intolerant (CURSE YOU LACTOSE!!) and allergic to shrimp.

22. - i spend far too much time on stalkbook crackbook facebook.

23. - i have slept with six people.

24. - my favourite colour is purple.

25. - my feet are size 9

26. - i love watching B-rad smiled when he doesn't know i'm looking.

27. - 27 is my favourite number.

28. - i'm a receptionist - but answering the phone and making calls makes me anxious.

29. - Every year i think about doing a christmas letter, but in the end...don't.

30. - i did my first solo performance at age 6 at my Uncle John's wedding. i sang "I'll Be Your Candle on the Water" from Pete's Dragon.

31. - Ever since i was little i've had headaches. My mom discovered that whenever something in my life changed, i would get a headache - even if i liked the change.

32. - As an adult - i now suffer from migraine headaches. if you've had one before - you know how much they suck. If you haven't - i hope you never do.

33. - i love blue cheese.

34. - i used to hate olives. but then one time some friends came over for supper and brought a salad with Kalamata olives....mmmmmm....so tasty.... the rest is history.

35. - The first time i ever got drunk was in my friend Curt's basement with our friend Jeremy. we drank rye and cokes and watched The Simpsons. Afterwards - they walked me the two blocks home. i remember laughing a lot.

36. - i regret that i never spent more time in Paris. We should have stayed a few days.

37. - i am claustrophobic. Not to the extent of elevators creeping me out. But sleeping bags are awful. If i can't move my legs or arms, i panic.

38. - i hate surprises. i can't stand not knowing, and if you know and i don't, i hate guessing so you should probably just tell me.

39. - Once upon a time i wanted four kids. now i'm thinking 2 is good.

40. - i used to be a waitress, so i believe in leaving a tip - however, i don't think that the tip should be implied. you still need to work for it.

41. - i worry. a lot. About things that are well beyond my control.

42. - i have a wierd ego/humility thing going on... i think i'm awesome, but i would never say i am, except on my blog of course.

43. - i hate competition - but the flip side of that is i love to win.

44. - i constantly kill my houseplants.

45. - i love Abba.

46. - We used to play this game when we were little - where we would take the bunkbed mattresses, the couch cushions, pillows, blankets, laundry - and pile them up in my brothers' room. Then one person would crawl under the pile - and the rest of us would climp up the bunkbed and one by one jump on the poor sibling under the pile. we would scream: "BRITISH COLUMBIA PANNNCAAAAAAKE!!" before we jumped.

47. - i have broken my nose, my wrist, and cracked my elbow. not at the same time though.

48. - i have a fear of teeth. when they're in your head they're fine. It's when they're loose that i hate them.

49. - i also don't like spiders.

50. - i love the smell of babies' heads.

51. - i like walking in the rain.

52. - i once ran miles away from home in the pouring rain because my mother wouldn't let me keep a kitten. i was gone for 5 or 6 hours. When my mom and older brother found me - my brother called me a little bitch and my mother didn't say anything.

53. - i'm not a HUGE FAN of Star Wars. I've seen it at least 7 or 8 times, but i'm just not a huge fan.

54. - i want to go to Egypt to see the pyramids

55. - i'm afraid of heights - when i can see the way down. it would terrify me, but i want to try a zip line over the jungle.

56. - i loved high school. but you couldn't get me to do it over. i was a floater. i floated from clique to clique. i got along well with everyone.

57. - i know probably every bride says this, but i LOVED my wedding dress. i hope i have a daughter who will want to wear it someday.

58. - i'm bad with numbers.

59. - i believe in ghosts

60. - i worry that my future kids will hate me - and won't know or appreciate how awesome i am. :D

61. - i learned how to play chess in Grade four. My elementary school had a mandatory school wide chess tournament every year. i'm not very good at it, though, because i don't think abstractly enough to play all the possible moves in my head first.

62. - i also hated word problems in math class

63. - i hated sudoku until i went to mexico and was determined to solve at least one puzzle. i did. and then some.

64. - i can still remember many of the lyrics to the songs on my Barbie and the Rockers cassette tape.

65. - Whe we were growing up - my mom would 'rent' musicals from the library. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers still holds a soft spot in my heart

66. - My favourite salty snack is popcorn

67. - i hate mornings. if i could i'd sleep in until 10 everyday

68. - i have nothing against Christians or people who have deep faith. What i do have a problem with is when people feel the need to shove their christianity down my throat. Okay, i get it. you love jesus.

69. - i love the number 69, and i did even before i knew it was a sexual position. i just always liked the way the two numbers nested into each other...i also like the sexual position. ;)

70. - I'm finding it difficult to come up with 100 facts about me.

71. - i love cherries, but hate cherry flavouring. I love watermelon flavouring but hate watermelon.

72. - at one point i seriously considered leaving my job from hell and becoming a carpenter/cabinet maker. I wanted to make furniture. then B-rad reminded me about all the math and geometry that would be involved. Sadly - i'll never live my cabinet making dreams. PLUS - these hands were not designed for manual labour.

73. - i stopped eating red meat last year - only becuase it hurts my tummy. I also don't eat fish because it's gross. that basically leaves chicken and pork. i'm only one step away from being a vegetabletarian.

74. - Every one of the kids in my family (4) has had a classmate die in a tragic accident. Hit by a car, drunk driving, playing with guns, hit by a car.

75. - i believed in Santa until i was 10. I found out he wasn't real when my dad, older brother, and i were shopping for Christmas presents. Dad said he had to go by the santa presents. Then he looked at me and said; "You knew Santa's not real, right?" i was shocked, but i wanted to look cool to my older brother so i said: "PSSHhhhh.... Yeeesss." My childhood was lost that day in the Field's Parking lot.l

76. - When i was in grade 4 i saw my dog Buster get hit by a car as i was waiting at the schoolbus stop. He was hit and killed by a teen who was late to pick his girlfriend up for school. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.

77. - i was in every play my highschool put on. I gave up the Singing Role in one to play the witch cuz it was a cooler LESS LAME part.

78. - i used to play on the basketball team in High School. i wasn't very good - so when drama was the same time i dropped the ball.

79. - My favourite ice cream is plan old 'chocolate'.

80. - when i'm printing/writing i always mix up my p's and b's. often i'll write something liek "poring" instead of "boring" and "blay" instead of "play". Not when i'm typing - just pen on paper.

81. - i hate repeptitive noises - like drumming fingers on a table, or 3 notes being played over and over again, or the sound of the bathroom fan. i also hate the sound of mouth breathing and people chewing/swallowing

82. - i love thunderstorms.

83. - For someone who doesn't have kids - i have a lot of kids movies. i say they're for my nieces and nephews, but they're not. i just really love kids movies.

84. - Sometimes i wonder if i AM the right man for the job.

85. - When i grow up i want to be a ROCKSTAR, but i also want to be a mommy someday too. I worry that i'm getting too old for both.

86. - i hate to cook - but i don't mind baking. Trouble is - B-rad and i don't really eat a lot of baking so it usually gets thrown out.

87. - i got glasses in the 3rd grade. i thought i looked smart in my school photo.

88. - "All I Wanna Do" by Cheryl Crowe always reminds me of Christmas because when we moved to the Skatch in November of 1994 this song was number one on the radio.

89. - two songs that i ABSOLUTELY HATE are "The Rose" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings". i sang both for an audition to the Missoula Children's Theatre Summer Camp
i hated both songs. i didn't get it. Maybe if i sang something i like i would have.

90. - i have a habit of stealing flatware from restaurants. i have 6 Earls forks in my cutlery drawer.

91. - i hate meeting new people because i hate small talk and i'm really bad at it.

92. - i stopped using a capital 'i' in high school. this has been detrimental to my note-taking abilities. LOL

93. - i wish i could tapdance.

94. - The Great Gig in the Sky made me cry when i went to the Roger Waters Concert.

95. - i am a very stubborn taurus. i hate it when people tell me what to do. many of the fights i had with my mother were because of that reason alone.

96. - when i was about 16 or so, while fighting with my mom i told her i hated her. at that time, my dad came into the room, walked up to me and slapped me full force. That was the first time he had ever struck me in anger. he felt awful, but i totally deserved it.

97. - i hated beer until the summer before we went to Mexico. i started drinking Coronos to prepare myself. Right now i really like Alexander Keiths, and Rickards White.

98. - i walked down the 'aisle' barefoot at my wedding. My bridesmaids and flowergirls did too.

99. - i have chronic heartburn. not a day goes by in my life without it. i eat rolaids like candy.

100. - i have a hard time finishing projects.
