TOOOOOL!!!!

What a weekend.... holy shit!!

Thursday night i went to the TOOL concert here in Calgary, then Friday morning brad and i drove up to Edmonton to see them again... 2 nights in a row.

Here's Maynard in his sexy belt buckle... yeah. He came on stage in a cowboy hat and that giant belt buckle.

He has incredible stage presence, even though he sort of hides in the back of the stage. Dancing up a storm and using his whole body to move!

It's hard to describe the concert and how amazing they were. SO much energy... a few times i was moved to tears. Yes, tears at a rock concert. But sometimes it could be a little overwhelming!

Running Back to Saskatoon

On day 5 of my vacation. i haven't done much at all. all of my friends feel that they MUST entertain me, but the most fun i've had is just chilling out doing absolutely nothing. I'm enjoyin the lack of direction this week has given me. i am totally happy to sit on the couch and watch jeopardy while talking about people i used to know in university.

So far it's been a good week - although i'm a little amazed at how much i miss my hubby. he'll be here soon.

Tonights 6/49 Jackpot is 32 MILLION Dollars!!

i know that the odds of me winning when the pot is this high is less that the chance of me getting struck by lightning but it's soooo tempting.

So what would i do with that much money?? I don't even think i can imagine at all what that would be like! I'd definately do sensible things like pay off my student loans and my parents' student loans - buy a house and a new car that runs on biodiesel, buy a winter home somewhere warm like Belize or Costa Rica... go on a cruise... y'know those kinds of things.

but here's a list of things i would do had i the UNLIMITED funds to do so:

1. i would donate enough money to the University of Sask to ensure that they give me an honorary music degree. But i would stipulate that the money be used to build a proper auditorium for the music department. One that was built with concerts and performances in mind - NOT lectures (no stupid desk thingies on the sides of the chairs) and it would be all decked out to record live performances

2. i would put money aside for scholarships and buraries for music students - but i would make the applicants do some crazy and creative application, and then once i have it narrowed down to 3 or 4 have them come and hang out with me in Hawaii for a week so i can get to know them before choosing one. That way, at least the other applicants get a cool trip to Hawaii.

3. i would do nothing but learn/do yoga for an entire year.

4. i would learn to speak German and Arabic fluently. I think they are both beautiful languages, and they've been given a bad wrap.

5. i would adopt 2 children from foreign countries

6. i would help fund an orphanage in the Ukraine or Russia.

7. i would hire a personal trainer/dietician

8. i would write. Poems, stories, journal entries, music, novels... anything

9. I would open a book store. I've always wanted a bookstore/Cafe. With an Open Mike stage.

10. I would buy a lot of stuff.

Gotta go get my ticket. wish me luck.

zzzzzzzsnore.............

Holy Guacamole,

The last two nights the heat has been unbareable. You can feel it all over the city that people are NOT getting their normal amount of sleep. Yesterday on the bus ride home, this older woman mistoke my shoulder for a pillow and did the head bob for about 20 minutes before finally crashing down on me!!

And the coffee girls in the cafe across the street have not been as chipper as usual.

Currently the residents of calgary are wandering around like sleep deprived zombies. But i'm in the same boat. I fell asleep on the bus today - i HATE doing that. And i had those same coffee girls kick my morning java up a notch by adding a shot of esspresso.

Only time will tell...

Introducing...CINDA

The cutest little cat on the block.

Okay, here she is.

We picked her up about an hour ago... and she was NOT happy about the ride home, and having to spend any time in the cat holder. Her frantic screaming just about broke my heart. She was bound and determined to fit her face and her entire body through the metal grate door of the holder to make her get away.

Adorable or what??

We finally decided on a name, as well. We're going with Cinda. Anyone remember the old Ewoks movie?? Y'know, the little human who runs around with Wicket, saving the world at the tender age of 6? Yeah. That's her.

B-Rad called me at work and said: "y'know, i really like the name Cinda." So, seeing as i named Kozmo, and i wasn't really attached to either Petra or Penny or Mrs. Maryfanny Pennyworth-Baxter the First... Cinda it is.
She's already got the nickname Princess Cinda, and also Cinda Lou Who. Cute as a guldarned button, she is.

It's amazing, really, the immediate differences in personality between her and Kozmo our 2 year old boy cat. Kozmo is pretty tough and stand-off-ish. But Cinda can't get enough of the petting, the nuzzles, and cuddles, and any kind of bodily contact.

We've separated the two kitties for now, Cinda is in the guest room, until Kozmo gets used to having the little tyke around. But he was definately curious, and i think in time he'll be a wonderful big brother and she can chase him all around the house like a maniac. For now, he's content to sit outside the door and look up at us as we go in and out as if he's saying "i'm not really sure whats going on here, people, but why is there ANOTHER kitty litter box in that room? And where's my toy mouse?" He's on to us. And he's tried sticking his little paw under the door to the spare room... "i know there's SOMETHING in there!!!" he's a smart cookie, that kitty.

Here's my big boy...

Checkin out the situation...

Yes, yes, yes, i know. I'm one of those "cat people". But it can't be helped! They really are like little people. i've never ever met a cat like Koz. I hope Cinda is just as full of attitude.

Sleep tight, little one.

Wednesday - Hump Day

not much to report. just another boring, stupid Wednesday... with your boring mid-week, nothing of interest on the telly, work sucks, and i have a headache GARBAGE!

Yesterday i called in sick to work. The bosses are out of town and i had a migraine so i stayed home to nurse myself back to health. I had my girls call me at lunch to let me know how things were going...

Why is it that the one day that i call in sick, all hell breaks loose at work. The bosses called in for a conference call - and when it was voiced that i wasn't in, that i was home sick.... the office overlords were none too happy about it. even though i did everything that i thought was needed/possible to let them know i was out for the count.

Now we're picking up the pieces today and it's poop. I would like this day to be over. However, i must perservere. Only 2 more days till i pick up our wee one. At least i have that to look forward too.

Not too much happening for the long weekend, just litter training and cat bonding.
